terms of service
v0.1 draft · last updated August 31, 2026 · under legal review
1 · Who we are
TraitSpotter is operated by DarkMind ([legal entity name and company number], [registered address]). Questions about these terms: [legal contact email].
2 · What TraitSpotter is — and is not
TraitSpotter is a training simulation that helps adults practise recognising manipulative conversational dynamics — narcissistic and psychopathic patterns — in workplace and interpersonal settings. The characters you interact with are fictional and AI-generated.
TraitSpotter is an educational aid. It is not a clinical or diagnostic instrument, it does not assess real people, and its scores and coaching must not be used to evaluate, diagnose, label, or make decisions about any real person. It is intended for users aged 18 or over in a professional or personal-development context.
3 · Your account
Depending on the deployment, you can play anonymously, sign in with Google to keep a history of your results, or — on the private team demo — enter with a one-time code emailed to an authorised company address. Demo sessions expire after 24 hours and demo play is not saved. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
4 · Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to make the AI produce content outside its training envelope (slurs, graphic content, or instructions for real-world harm), or probe, bypass, or overload our safety measures, sign-in gates, or rate limits;
- access the service with scrapers, bots, or other automated means, or resell or redistribute it;
- enter personal information about real, identifiable people into conversations; and
- use outputs to evaluate, diagnose, or make decisions about real individuals.
5 · AI-generated content
Conversations are generated by artificial intelligence. They are fiction, produced for training purposes; they deliberately simulate manipulation tactics, may be inaccurate, and are not advice of any kind (psychological, medical, legal, or otherwise).
6 · Intellectual property
The service, its design, and its authored content belong to DarkMind. Text you type stays yours; you grant us the licence needed to operate the service (for example, sending your message to our AI provider to generate a reply).
7 · Availability and warranty
TraitSpotter is pre-launch software provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service (or your access to it) at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DarkMind's total liability arising out of the service is limited to [liability cap — for counsel].
8 · Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version; material changes will be flagged in the product.
9 · Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes belong to the courts of [venue].
